The outbreak of World War II in 1939 brought production at Bugatti to a halt, and the company was forced to shift its focus to other industries. Ettore Bugatti passed away in 1947, and the company struggled to regain its footing in the years that followed.

In 1950, Bugatti was acquired by the Hispano-Suiza Group, and the company began producing a series of sports cars and luxury sedans. These cars were not as revolutionary as Bugatti’s earlier models, but they continued to be renowned for their exceptional quality and craftsmanship.

Bugatti’s fortunes changed again in 1998, when the company was acquired by the Volkswagen Group. Under Volkswagen’s ownership, Bugatti began work on a new supercar, the Veyron, which was designed to be the fastest and most powerful car in the world. The Veyron was unveiled in 2005, and it quickly established itself as a true engineering marvel, with a top speed of over 250 mph and a price tag of over $1 million.

Today, Bugatti remains one of the most exclusive and revered names in the automotive industry. The company’s current product line includes the Chiron, a high-performance supercar that boasts impressive speed and power, as well as a range of bespoke models that are tailored to the individual needs and tastes of Bugatti’s most discerning customers.
